I thought I’d use the bully pulpit, such as it is, to advertise, in a non-traditional way, a paper by Mallesh Pai and myself. To view the advertisement, see below. At most 4 minutes and 10 seconds of your life will be consumed. Mallesh and I hope that others will be inspired to advertise their own work in similar fashion.

This is awesome, Rackesh!! I think it’s going to change the way I think about pushing my papers. Unfortunately, Hollywood loves a sequel, but I hate writing sequels. So in the end, I fear that I will lose in the coming intellectual battle you have unleashed.
For those who haven’t seen Rackesh’s paper, it rocks!

Dear Lones,
Thank you for the encomiums. If Mallesh and I have started an arms race, it will be short lived. Sequels on xtranormal require $$’s. Its unclear whether one can charge these these $$’s to one’s research account! I certainly don’t intend to be the first to try.

Great! As a first year PhD student, I (mostly) understand what the paper is about know. I’m not so confident that I would follow the technical details in the paper though, but you might just have inspired me to give it a try!
Just one tip – as an Australian, I had a bit of a hard time understanding the female character’s accent, particularly when she started talking quickly. A more neutral accent (if such a thing exists – traditional BBC presenter style perhaps?) might make it easier to focus on the content.
